So yeah, I'm alternating classic Who (just watched the first part of the reconstruction of "Marco polo") with rewatching season four of new Who. What's wrong with that? XD
Seriously, knowing what will eventually happen to Donna, I have to take it in small pieces; every time she's awesome (and that's pretty much all the time) I just want to cry.
"The Doctor's Daughter" is a gold mine for us canon stretchers - so many things left unknown, and so many moments between the Doctor and Donna where it's shown how much she understands him, and oh, the serious, emotional moment where she tells him that he's wrong!
New as I am to the fandom I'm not sure what the opinion of Jenny is, but I loved her. And while Ten never meets her again, I'm sure one of his future regenerations will. In my head I have them meeting and parting in adventures together, along with various companions (and I always thought the Doctor needed more than one at a time - he gets so lonely when he hasn't got anyone).
I wonder if she could have a TARDIS of her own? I don't know how they're made (yet - I'm working my way through old canon slowly but steadily), but I'm sure they could come up with a way together.
Oh, and Donna! She is brilliant in this episode, working out what happened on her own, pretty much, and showing her skill with numbers (that she didn't need to be a Doctor to have, by the way), exercising that agile mind that she has but didn't know about until her travels with the Doctor.
That's why I don't believe she could be happy or satisfied with the life she got in the end - her mind is too restless, always moving, probing, examining. Much like the Doctor, in fact. "The Doctors' Daughter" really shows how close they are becoming, how well they understand each other. I'd possibly go as far as to call Donna his soul mate, maybe in a completely platonic way, maybe not.
Sort of crossposted to my own dw; that post includes a fic rec, though.
Oh, and quick question: do I tag my posts, or does the mod do that?

I'm just hoping for (though not really expecting) a better resolution of her story. As nothing is ever certain in the Doctor Who universe, there's no reason to view her fate as completely fixed, anyway!

True! And I guess one of the great things about the DW universe is that you can always create an alternate to the canon to suit yourself :).

HAHAHAHA, me too! She's just too awesome. ^^ Really, I'm just trying the thought out in my brain, but as I see it for now, they're completely platonic. Ort of like siblings, maybe? Argh, I really want more Doctor and Donna canon...

Ain't it the truth - I've been gorging myself on Donna-fic this past week. XD Have you read Footsteps in the Sand and its sequel? Pure brilliance.
