My post (on possible future Doctor's) was actually more to do with celebrating links to British theatre and Nick Hytner's run as director of the NT. than specifically being about 'Curious Case' - haven't seen 'Fortitude' which may be where Beeb bosses caught on to Treadaway.

Or, they could cast someone else entirely!
