I've said before that I have no objection in principal to feature a child-murderer as a major character, but there ought by god be a point to doing so! As it is, Danes ended up as a rather pointless (almost literal) spear-carrier, his presumably satirical roles as messiah or corporate pitch-man utterly forgotten.
