I barely remember the story with Commander Maxil. And I know I should, since it was a Fifth Doctor story and I wouldn't have missed any episodes of Who for the world.

You really never met anyone who disliked Six? I never knew anyone who liked the Sixth Doctor!

I couldn't believe how many fans of his I encountered, to be perfectly honest. As desperate for Who as I would get, I still tended to mock Six if those were the episodes I could find on.

Colin himself has a lot of loyal fans due to his amiable diligence at promoting the show over the years and his good-natured participation with the fans at cons - plus his audio adventures more than redeemed the ill-fated television run. I started off as a Six-hater, to be honest, but over time as I learned more about why his Doctor was portrayed the way he was and how little of the dislikable aspects were Colin's fault he has grown on me. I still can't deal with Peri in any form but I've found myself getting rather fond of Six in spite of that horrid coat they foisted on him - but alas, he still lands near the bottom of the heap whenever I sort them by favor.

That makes sense. He's one of the few that between my father and I we never got a chance to meet, of the first seven. (Both men who portrayed One, and Six are the only ones we never met).
