What did we reckon? Spoiler: I loved it so much I haven't done my usual instant reaction post because I want to write something longer.

Got real life distracted and only watched the second half, so didn't catch the politics bit, however, what I saw was good.

I was just thinking of Donna after I wrote my comment to the overall post.

I ended up rather liking Donna. When they announced they were bringing her back as a companion for a whole season, I was horrified, as in TRB she'd been one-note shouty Catherine Tate, just following the Doctor around yelling 'What are you on about, SPACEMAN?'. But then they gave the character so much more when they brought her back, and she ended up having a lot of depth to her, more than Martha who never seemed to go beyond Generic Companion, or Rose who was just In Love With The Doctor.

Clara ended up pretty good by her last season, becoming the Doctor's equal in many ways, as Donna became. Funny that Clara's peppy up-beatness fared worse in the end than Donna's abrasiveness, which became a rather likeable aspect of her.
